Justin and JC's history is long and full of dates and stories that will eventually fill this page.  For now, we've broken down how we've chosen to separate the rest of the site, and are describing the eras that the guys have been through together.  In time, we'll be adding to this page with specific dates in order to make it more of a timeline referential tool.

MMC (1992-1994)

Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez met on the set of the Disney Channel's The Mickey Mouse Club in 1992. The two actors, then approximately 11 and 16 respectively, starred together in the show's weekly skits and musical performances. Sharing an intense love for singing in front of audiences, the two quickly bonded. Although the show was cancelled in 1994, JC and Justin remained in contact and planned on collaborating again in the future.

After a quick stint in Los Angeles, JC returned to Nashville. At the time, Justin was working with Robin Wiley, a vocal coach for The Mickey Mouse Club. Robin invited JC to work with her as well, and it was then that Justin and JC began to sing together on demos. Since Justin was still in school at the time, he'd have his mother drive him from Memphis to Nashville each weekend to record with JC. As the two created new music, Justin became aware of an opportunity to join an up-and-coming boyband back in Orlando and immediately asked JC if he wanted to be a part of the venture. JC agreed, and the two packed up their belongings and moved back to Florida.

EUROPE (1995-1997)

After joining NSYNC and learning a few dance moves to accompany their harmonies, it was time for the guys to head to Europe and establish a fan base. They later signed with BMG Ariola Munich in Germany and continued to tour in the area. The hours were gruesome and the pace frenetic, but JC, Justin, Chris, Lance and Joey stuck with it. Eventually, the singles "I Want You Back" and "Tearin Up My Heart" made the group the most popular young act in Europe. It was time to return to the United States to see if their success would continue.

DEBUT (1998-1999)

Returning to America proved to be an exciting homecoming. JC and Justin went back to their Disney roots and performed with the rest of NSYNC on the Disney Channel for their own concert special. This performance catapulted them into stardom in the United States. Their self-titled US debut album sold over ten million copies in 1998. JC and Justin, along with the rest of their band mates, were on top of the world. The group was soon inspired to create a Christmas album later that year, and JC and Justin took the opportunity to try writing together once again. The end result, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, became the album's most popular single.

NO STRINGS ATTACHED (2000)

Some say if it's too good to be true, it probably is. This was the case with NSYNC in 1999. Riding on the success of their popular debut album, the group was stunned to realize that their management team and record label were cheating them financially. The matter was taken to court, and NSYNC had to fight for their money, the freedom to record as they saw fit, and amazingly enough, their own name. The bitter lawsuit was covered extensively by the media, and in the end, NSYNC won their case and were able to retain their group name and the ability to record under it. In 2000, they signed a contract with Jive Records and released their second album, the cleverly titled No Strings Attached. The album broke sales records and sold 2.4 million copies in a single week.

The members of the group formed an especially close bond during the creation of this album. It was a chance to prove to the world that they were no longer controlled by money-hungry executives who didn't have their best interest at heart. JC and Justin also began to experiment with writing material for the album during this time. It was beginning to become clear how devoted each man was to his craft.

CELEBRITY (2001-2002)

With the unprecedented success of No Strings Attached behind them, it was time for *NSYNC to record something new. The guys wanted to break free of their squeaky-clean image and incorporate edgier lyrics and beats into their sound. Justin and JC flexed their creative muscles and showed off their writing skills this time around, working with popular producers such as BT, Brian McKnight, Rodney Jenkins, and The Neptunes. The new album, Celebrity, gave the industry a brief look at what kind of talent lay within *NSYNC. Because of their heavy involvement in co-writing 11 out of the 14 tracks on the record, JC and Justin received praise from critics and fans alike.

HIATUS (2002-present)

Over twenty million albums sold. Countless tours with packed arenas all across the country. Eight years of non-stop rehearsals, performances, and public appearances. It was time to take a break.

For JC, 2002 was initially a time to relax and reflect on the crazy journey he and his bandmates had embarked on. Meanwhile, Justin was prepared to jump directly into solo stardom with the debut of his first album, Justified. With nearly six million copies sold and a world tour, the next year and a half was demanding. It didn't take long, however, for JC to work his way back into the studio. A collaboration on a song with Dallas Austin in 2002 for the movie Drumline inspired JC to create a solo album of his own, which was released in February of 2004.

Although JC and Justin both had hectic schedules during this time, it didn't stop either one from putting in a good word for the other's professional ventures at various public appearances. Whether it was a quick plug for an album on MTV, or a William Rast t-shirt on a red carpet, JC and Justin continue to support one other.

In 2006, the two reunited in the studio once again, this time with Justin putting on the hat of the producer as he guided JC toward finding a new sound to the follow-up of Schizophrenic. The two collaborated on several songs, finding inspiration in the beautiful women of the United States and their deceiving ways; the former being the tentatively titled "God Bless America" with the latter being JC's first single, "Until Yesterday."

Justin's support of JC's solo endeavors continued as he invited JC to perform "Until Yesterday" live at the Roseland Ballroom in New York on August 31, 2006, the night of the MTV Music Video Awards. With JC at the mic and Justin at his side at the keyboard, delighted audience members were treated to a collaboration that was a long time coming. And with the release date of JC's sophomore album quickly approaching, fans can only expect more great things to come from the talented duo.
